Money Matters Blog- November 2020- Lockdown 2.0

Dec 18, 2020 | Uncategorized

Hello there! We hope this finds you well in this eventful week in world news. From the US Presidential Election to the announcement of a second National Lockdown in the UK, it has certainly been a busy ‘news’ week.

The topic of this blog will come as no surprise…. we just wanted to let you know how Money Matters will be operating over this period and signpost you to some reliable sources of information.

Firstly, we are still ‘open’ for business. As of today 05/11/2020, our offices are fully closed again, so the small number of face to face appointments we have been conducting are unfortunately no longer viable. However, as we have all been primarily working from home since March, we are a dab hand at working remotely, so telephone/Zoom meetings are still available.

As a reminder, we can be contacted via all the below methods:

Secondly, we are very conscious that Lockdown 2.0 may bring financial difficulty for some of our clients. As such, if you are struggling with making payments, please let us know; we’re here to help.

If you’re anything like us, you’ll be finding the plethora of information available online a bit daunting, so we have also collated the following links highlighting the government help and/or payment holiday arrangements that may be useful:

Government Announcement regarding Economic Support

Financial Conduct Authority(FCA) Proposals for Mortgage Payment Holidays

(please note that these are proposals at this stage. The banks have until today to respond to the FCA before they provide full guidance).

Payment Holidays explained and Mortgage Lender contact details

Please feel free to get in touch if you want to discuss anything, or if we can be of any assistance to your family and friends.

We will be more active on our social media channels over the next month, with the return of our ‘ray of sunshine’ posts, hoping to put a smile on your face with some local pictures and ‘just for fun’ memes. If you have photos you’d like us to feature, we’d love you to submit them to us. Whether they are of local landmarks, ‘lockdown’ activities that have kept you or your children entertained, or anything else to brighten our day, it would be great to see what you get up in November. Please send them into for the attention of Caroline or Louis, and make sure you follow us on social media to see the posts!

In the meantime, stay safe and enjoy the transition from Autumn into Winter, and dare we say it…the start of the festive season!

All the best
