Money Matters update- Our new normal (for now)
21st July 2020
We hope you are all keeping well and thought that we’d give you a bit of an update on life at Money Matters.
Although our office premises have been closed, we are proud to have been fully functioning from home throughout lockdown. It certainly wasn’t easy at the start, but we’ve become experts at thinking outside of the box over the last few months, and I expect many of you have too. Even those of us who weren’t au fait with Zoom back in March are now seasoned professionals (or at least showing big improvements) in the art of remote client meetings. Team meetings have taken on a whole new light, with pets putting in appearances as well as seeing a variety of ‘backgrounds’ from our team’s kitchens, spare bedrooms and gardens!
As a ‘new normal’ emerges, our attention has moved towards what the future looks like and how we can safely operate moving forward. People are at the heart of our business and our priority is to keep our team and our clients safe. Whilst we are conscious of the need to get back some sense of normality, which comes with inevitable risks, we feel that some risks just aren’t worth taking.
Therefore, we think it’s the right thing to do to keep our offices closed (albeit with exceptions) for the time being and continue to be available by phone, email, Zoom, Skype etc…you name it! We are taking a common sense approach, so if you feel that there is a genuine need to see us face to face (such as those hard of hearing or where we are providing particularly complex advice), we will endeavour to accommodate this by prior arrangement.
Of course, the Coronavirus situation is continually evolving and our policy is being reviewed on an ongoing basis. As and when things change, we will let you know. Rest assured we have detailed plans in place to open the office as soon as we feel this can be done safely.
We would like to reiterate that we are absolutely ‘open for business’,albeit remotely. Thankfully, the diaries are still very busy, but we do have availability for both Mortgage/Protection appointments as well as Pension/Investment appointments over the coming weeks and these are open to existing and new clients. So if you would like to arrange to talk to us, or know somebody who is seeking financial advice, please call us on 01642 033737 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a convenient day and time.
We’d also like to take this opportunity to let you know that we have decided to cancel September’s Annual Golf Day. Whilst we are disappointed, given the circumstances and government guidelines around large gatherings, unfortunately it will not be viable. We promise that 2021’s event will make up for it!
All the best
Alastair and Chris
